Things to Consider for A COVID Safe Wedding This Summer

As the pandemic is trending favorably in New England, the states of Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Maine are in its final phase of reopening. With restrictions slowly easing up, prospective couples are gaining more confidence in soon actualizing their weddings. Social venues both indoors and outdoors are slowly starting to reopen spaces for larger crowds. Wedding professionals are optimistic a traditional reception in an entire ballroom is very much feasible in the summer. Hence, there has been a noticeable rise in wedding bookings planned for this summer season through the end of the year. Certainly, micro and outdoor style weddings are still the popular choice of wedding at this time. Nevertheless, couples are very much eager to celebrate their special day whilst still maintaining a COVID safe wedding environment for everyone involved.

Despite a decline in weddings this past year, the wedding industry and all its vendors continues to be very much ready to be involved in helping with planning your special day. Certainly, they are more than happy to assist and accommodate your needs from budget, design, and preparation. Provided public health metrics continue to improve, the state will continue to evaluate the improvements and future expectations includes eventual expanded capacity.  At this time, some operating wedding regulation to consider:

Space Limit

  • Space limits on gatherings at social enues and public settings will be 100 people indoors and 150 people outdoors. *Subject to the size area of space.
  • Private settings remain at 10 people indoors and 25 people outdoors.
  • These capacity limits apply to both public and private venues, including private homes, backyards, fields, and event spaces.

Entertainment

  • You can have dance floors at weddings and events.
  • No live music bands are currently permitted.

Procedure

  • All guests must wear masks. The CDC have eased the use of masked outdoors for vaccinated individuals.
  • Maintain 6 feet of social distancing.
  • Although not explicit required, something to consider is asking guests to show a proof of negative test or prior vaccination.
